I have just made a colouring page for children coming to my workshop. I don't have the room for them to do it in my studio, but I was thinking they could take it home, colour it in and then post it to a flickr page I have set up, for everyone to see and wellydog to comment on.
I thought maybe it would be a good idea if I did a new adventure for wellydog every few weeks.
Below is the 1st adventure , sorry it a very bad photo.
I was really happy about the idea but now wondering about if it, what do you think? Also would it be acceptable to ask for a 10p contribution to the cost of copying it or should I just give them away????
Sounds like a good idea to me, kids love it if their work gets put on a blog or website. Maybe you could leave a dish for 10p's to be donated at the parents' discretion - you'll probably get more putting in than not. If it becomes popular, maybe you could do a little competition one near to Xmas or ask the kids to suggest Wellydog adventures and the best idea gets a blog post. Kids are always full of bright ideas! Good luck whatever you decide :)
ReplyDeleteBeen away - so only just catching up with your studio adventure - well done you!!! I'm very jealous!
ReplyDeleteI think the colouring sheet is a brilliant idea & I would be happy to pay 10p for my children. I visited somewhere on holiday which cost a lot in admission, Bram was offered a worksheet, I said yes as he likes doing them, then she said that'll be 50p!! Which ok is not much, but on top of everything else I though it was a bit cheeky!! But here I see no problem, you haven't charged anyone anything, 10p is nothing & there's the excitement of being involved in a flickr group - you can see your work on screen. You go for it!!
I wish you all the best in your venture & look forward to reading more! xx
I like the idea with the little dish. I'd contribute, and I bet most others would, too!
ReplyDeleteD'you know, you should just offer little classes as a trial, there seems to be a lot of interest. If I lived locally, I'd be your first student!
