Death of a laptop / Folksy Friday

I was going to blog about my lovely new craft rooms progress but I have had a terrible disaster and my lovely MacBook has died. All my stuff is gone and no way to retieve it....... So here I am Blogging in my lunch hours at work. I have no access to my pictures so I thought I would celebrate the life of my beloved laptop in a series of items from folksy that remind me of my baby.....may it rest in peace x

New Craft Room

Phew!!!! What a manic couple of weeks it has been. But finally I can sit and admire my new craft room.
I had so many ideas and not that much space. I knew my trusty old desk had to come with me with me and that I have a nice large built in cupboard to store my stuff in, but it also had to have 3 main uses
1. Jewellery making
2. Better access to my sewing machine
3. Somewhere to chill and relax
I also had no money with which to do it, I already had my desk and chair and an old wall unit that has been in our garage covered in junk got rescued. Everything in the room we either already had or I managed to scrounge. The only thing in the end I bought was a small tin of purple paint for my accent wall.

I have got future plans, the chair in the corner will hopefully be replaced by a small sofa or futon and I want put a sticker or some white writing on one of my purple walls, but basically its there.

Let me know what you think.

Flags out

I need to put the flags out, my 23 year old ( nearly 24) is leaving home!!
How heartless am I??? I love him dearly but it really is time he left. He needs his own space and we need ours, or should I say........ I need his room!!!!!

Yes when he finally has gone and a suitable time has lapsed ( I am trying to appear sensitive) his room, will become the spare room, and then I can have the smaller room for my craft room Yipeee!!!!!!!!

I am sooo excited, I have been planning this since we moved into the house nearly 6 years ago. I have had plenty of time to thing about this.... I can have my sewing machine permanently out, I will be able to have a new jewellery area with all my tools and materials close at hand, no more having to scramble under desks and in the back of cupboards to find all my bits and pieces.

I can't wait.........
